I am trying to get back to real mail at the moment:  I used to write loads of letters but email is so much a part of my life now that a real letter has become a rare occurence.  It’s just so much more personal to receive a handwritten letter, so I’ve been making some notecards to send with the letters to give me a push. This is one that I made with the new MME Wild Asparagus range – I was after something with a soft, vintage feel. I hit upon a problem with my ‘bloom’ – it looked just too neat and I don’t own a Prima flower muted enough. Then I remembered this idea that I’d seen on the fab Dawn McVey’s blog – I like the distressed result although my DH did look rather concerned and ask why I’d stuck a screwed up flower on my card :)

Getting distressed…

Apr

well, not me but my card!

I’ve finally had a chance to play with my Basic Grey Wisteria ‘Pom’ stamp and it all got a bit distressed. With the soft watercolour flower, the straight lines I had originally just didn’t look right. So I restamped doing the sentiment in distress ink to get a slightly soft edged look, roughed up the card edges with scissors and inked the edges of the card blank.
